I’m not even joking when I say this is likely to be the best ever chocolate loaf cake. It’s soft, fluffy and moist all in one with a rich chocolate orange taste. And is there anything much better than the chocolate orange combination?!
I found that loaf cakes are SO much easier to bake than the bigger cakes, and the smaller size means less waiting time too! So this is a winner in every way and you’re going to love it!
Preheat the oven to 180ºC fan assisted.
Line a 2lb loaf tin
Zest the orange + then juice it.
Melt the butter + add to the orange juice, coconut milk and coconut nectar. Stir them together.
Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, sugar and bicarbonate of soda together in a bowl to the rest of the mixture.
Whisk together until the batter is smooth.
Pour the cake mix into your loaf tin and bake for 50 minutes, or until a cocktail stick comes out clean when poked into the centre of the cake
Allow the cake to cool for a few mins before turning out onto a wire rack + leaving to cool.
