 RECIPE BY @FLOURISHEDBYNATURE

These Miso and cinnamon stewed apples are the perfect topping for your oats, smoothie bowls or sweet toasts. They have a hint of caramel and are filled with cozy flavors thanks to the addition of cinnamon.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 apple
  • 1 tsp white miso paste
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2  - 1 tbsp date syrup
METHOD
  1. Cut the apple into bite-sized chunks.
  2. Put them in a pan with 3 tbsp of water. Set the heat to medium, and cook for a few minutes until apple are soft. Add a little more water as needed — to prevent the apple slices from burning.
  3. Reduce the heat to low, then add the cinnamon, miso and date syrup.
  4. Simmer until all the water has dissolved and the apple slices are cooked through — but not mushy.
  5. Store in an air-tight jar in the fridge for a few days.
  6. This stewed apple is best enjoyed on top of your breakfast bowls. Yum! Be sure to serve using the most sustainable bowl in the world — the Coconut Bowl!
